An inclusive, Christ-centered community making a difference.

All youth are welcome--and we hope that you will find a home with us here! Between youth group meetings, confirmation classes, musical rehearsals, lock-ins, retreats, and mission trips, we have a little something for everyone. Join us for our next event to find out what the fun is all about.

We are all in this together and we want to encourage and support one another in all things. One way we do this is by providing an opportunity at every youth group meeting to share our joys and concerns. In this way we can lift each other up in times of joy and we can be there to support one another in times of grief.

Serving is central to who we are as youth. In addition to serving alongside our local church and community, we provide opportunities for our youth to experience different cultures through service throughout our nation and even across our globe!

All are welcome here! We are a diverse community of youth from over ten different school districts and with a wide variety of interests and talents. Whether you think you know where you fit in or you are still trying to figure it all out, we invite you to be a part of our community!

Welcome. Celebrate. Serve. All.

Thanks for visiting our youth page!

The youth program at Asbury First is open to all 6th-12th graders. We are UMYF; this stands for United Methodist Youth Fellowship. Our mission is to welcome all youth to celebrate a growing relationship with God and each other, while joyfully serving in the example of Christ. We are built on the foundations of Christianity and we take our United Methodist Church slogan seriously:

  • Open Hearts.
    • We want all youth to feel loved and accepted in our group regardless of age, gender, race, school district, sexual orientation, religion, etc.
  • Open Minds.
    • We want our youth programming to be a safe place where all youth feel comfortable with sharing what’s in their hearts without being judged.
  • Open Doors.
    • We want all youth to know they are welcome—members and non-members alike participate in our programming.
