6th–8th Grade Mission Trip
2017 will mark our 4th annual Middle School Mission Trip. As a summer trip, you may attend if you have completed 6th through 8th grade in the spring.
Mission trips are the highlight of the year. By living and working together—even just for a few days—you experience as much fullness and depth as an entire year of youth programming. You form bonds and friendships that last a lifetime. God calls us to love our neighbor, and by setting aside this time, you become vulnerable to God’s call and open to the experiences before you. In each trip, you both give and receive. That's because you'll develop relationships with those whom we are working alongside—whether it's another group member, a child looking for love and support, or a family who needs a wheelchair ramp added to their home. By hearing their stories and sharing your own, you bring the world together in ways that can transcend the simple offering of a meal, or the pounding of a nail. We are all God’s children, and together we can help spread God’s love in the world.
Our Middle School Mission Trip is the first full week in August each year. Monday through Thursday, we spend our mornings helping out with Asbury First's vacation Bible School, and each afternoon is spent partnering with a different local agency. We then take Friday and Saturday to take a brief overnight to continue to form our group bonds and to celebrate a wonderful week of service.
