Our annual confirmation class is for all of our 8th grade youth. We welcome you to join us for this experience. Confirmation is a time of discovery and experience. Some of us have grown up in the church and some of us have not. We learn a lot about what it means to be a United Methodist, and how we can better live out our faith. Our confirmation class meets in room LL12 on the 1st and 3rd Sundays from 5:00-6:00 pm and on the 2nd and 4th Sundays from 12:00-1:00 pm (5th Sundays are a sabbath). Confirmation runs from September through late May.
During these weeks we will:
- Study our own United Methodist history, participate in service work, and go on field trips to other local religious institutions.
- Learn how to live out the charge of John Wesley, who founded Methodism, and who said “Do all the good you can. By all the means you can. In all the ways you can. In all the places you can. At all the times you can. To all the people you can. As long as ever you can.” We do this through service to Asbury First (Dining and Caring Center or Storehouse) and in the greater community.
- Learn how to tackle even the toughest challenges that we face, by looking at them through scripture, tradition, experience, and reason (these four things make up the "Wesleyan Quadrilateral").
